It might be related to the compatibility issue of HDMI and it's strongly recommended to use 1080P instead of 1080i as the output resolution. Please follow below steps:
Power off the encoder and plug out the HDMI cable;
Try to set the output resolution for your camcorder like 1920*1080(1080P);
Plug in the HDMI cable and power on the encoder;
Check whether it can detect the correct resolution;
If it still cannot detect the correct resolution or it's only 1080i for your camcorder, please follow below steps:
Try to upgrade the encoder with latest firmware which might help;
Try to buy one HDMI EDID emulator like DIGITUS 4K HDMI EDID emulator which is verified by connecting to JVC camcorder;
